Covina community members are encouraged to draw and submit their own maps. The City has provided paper maps for the public to use.
- Public Participation Kit – Paper Map with Population Count (in English or Spanish)
Alternatively, the public can submit any form of a hand-drawn map that identifies street names.
Submit maps to firstname.lastname@example.org. After you submit your map, the demographic consultants will generate the population and other demographic details for your proposed map. Maps can be viewed on the Draft Maps page.
It is helpful if you submit written comments with your map describing how your map was drawn to meet the required criteria. An example of this would be describing the specific neighborhoods or communities of interest that are kept within a single district. In addition, please identify which districts you propose to have up for election in 2022 (three districts in a five-district plan or two districts in a four-district plan with a separate Mayor), and which two districts would be up for election in 2024.
The First Deadline to submit maps is December 6, 2021, by 6 p.m. Maps submitted by this deadline will be considered in the first draft maps publication presented at the Third Public Hearing on December 21, 2021, at 7:30 pm.
The Final Deadline to submit maps is December 23, 2021, by 3 p.m. Maps submitted by the final deadline will be considered in the final draft maps publication presented at the Fourth Public Hearing on January 4, 2022, at 7:30 pm.
All map submissions are public record.
